Our focus this year, at least for the next couple of months, needs to be one of simplification. Over the coming months I want to simplify every aspect of StrategyOnline. Our mission statement, our core focus, our product line-up, our online presence, the way we communicate with our clients, everything.

We started doing this late last year, with the redesign of our website. The site has already been downscaled from over 400 pages to just under 100. I’d like to see that number drop to under 50.

We have a presence on all the popular social media sites, but is this adding any value? I’m not convinced. If it isn’t working, stop doing it. Stop worrying about what is considered to be “technically trendy”, stop worrying about Google SEO, stop worrying about what everyone else is doing. That’s my new motto. If it doesn’t add value, get rid of it. Period.

Sometimes change needs to be implemented via small, incremental decisions. Sometimes it needs a sledgehammer.

Here we go.
