Where are my backups stored?
Introduction
If you just want to restore a backup, you can move ahead to the section titled
How do I restore a backup. You do not
need to know the technicalities behind how backups work, or where backup files are stored. We have merely documented this for those who may be interested.
Windows XP
On Windows XP, your backups are stored in the following directory:
C:\Program Files\StrategyOnline\StatementAnalyzer\bkp
Windows Vista / Windows 7
On Windows Vista and Windows 7, your backups are stored within your profile area, under your login name. For example:
C:\Users\Stacy\AppData\Roaming\StrategyOnline\Statement Analyzer\bkp
The above example shows where the backup files would be stored for a user named "Stacy".
What do backup files look like?
Your backup files all end with ".BKP", like this...
20110609_165453.bkp
The backup filename is actually made up from the data and time that the backup was created. In the example above, the filename indicates that this backup was created on 9 June 2011 ("20110609"), at 4:54pm ("165453").
