For those of my readers who are fellow Clarion programmers, you’ve possibly already seen Robert Zaunere’s post from Saturday evening, where he links to a video from Bob Foreman showing off the current state of the Clarion 7 AppGen etc. If you haven’t, check it out here.
Two things excited me right off the bat.. Firstly, it’s obvious that SoftVelocity have gone to a lot of effort to minimize the learning curve for developers moving from Clarion 6 up to Clarion 7. When C7 was first shown to the public I heard many developers moaning about the anticipated learning curve, and saying things like “we might as well just move to C# if we have to learn a whole new environment”. It looks now like moving over to Clarion 7 is going to be absolutely painless.
Second, how awesome is the new Applications Pad!? That’s going to save me a lot of time..
I can’t wait to get my hands on this. When I get my copy you probably won’t hear from me for a day or two.
Have a good week everyone..
G.
