Somerset West to Cape Town by Rail!

This is exciting!  I just read that next month Metrorail is launching a new train called the Strand Premium Express, which is aimed at transporting business commuters from Somerset West through to Cape Town.

In “first world” countries this is pretty much a no-brainer, and something that everyone takes for granted, but here in Africa travelling by train is generally considered to be a fairly dangerous, uncomfortable form of travel.  It’s nice to see this sort of progress.

Passengers will receive tea / coffee and a newspaper.  Now they just need to add wifi and dancing girls!

This is a great idea, how does one book a seat?

Just read about the launch of the Strand Premium Express service two years ago and trust it’s still running successfully?! I’m keen to do a return journey into CT from Somerset West for the day towards the end of the month. Trust it’s safe for a middle-aged white lady to do the trip and how can I buy a ticket, please?
